The tourism industry is continuing to grow by leaps and bounds in Surry County.  Visitors spent $86.79 million to Surry County in 2009. The travel and tourism industry directly employed more than 730 people in Surry County and generated a payroll of $13.36 million.  State and local tax revenues from travel to Surry County amounted to $7.03 million in 2009. The Tourism Partnership of Surry County unites the county's tourism development authorities to promote countywide tourism through joint marketing and advertising.
