The tourism industry is continuing to grow by leaps and bounds in Surry County.  Visitors spent $87 million to Surry County in 2008 which placed Surry County in 39th place among the state's 100 counties*.  The travel and tourism industry directly employed more than 720 people in Surry County and generated a payroll of $13.45 million.  The Tourism Partnership of Surry County unites the county's tourism development authorities to promote countywide tourism through joint marketing and advertising.
