I am pleased to present to you our annual report on the progress and achievements of the Surry County Economic Development Partnership. Over the past year, our collaborative efforts have yielded meaningful results and have brought about positive changes in our community.

SCEDP 2024 Annual Report

Our partnership has remained steadfast in its commitment to fostering economic growth, attracting investments, and creating job opportunities in Surry County. Through strategic initiatives and proactive engagement with businesses and stakeholders, we have been able to achieve several milestones that have contributed to the overall development of our region.

Key achievements this past year:

  • A Complete Team | Full Complement of New Staff
  • Strategic Plan | Approved June 2023
  • New Office Location | Now at Interworks in Downtown Mount Airy
  • Housing Market Study | Published October 2023
  • Attracting New Capital | $85 million in new construction permits
  • Manufacturing Week Back with Aplomb | 200+ students and 10 industry tours
  • Ready Sites | Successful Golden Leaf Award for Westwood Industrial Park
  • Lunch & Learns, Investor Socials, Leadership Speakers, Existing Industry Visits, & Bizfest all brought energy and opportunity to existing businesses.

As we look ahead to the coming year, we remain committed to building on the successes of the past and continuing to drive economic growth and prosperity in Surry County. We are confident that by working together and leveraging our collective strengths, we can overcome challenges and seize opportunities to create a brighter future for our community. I am more confident today than ever before that Surry County is the best place to do business in the state of North Carolina.
