Our Mission

To Support and Promote the Economy of Surry County, North Carolina and to Assure Sustainable Economic Prosperity for our Residents and Businesses.

The Partnership will fulfill its mission by helping retain and expand industries and recruit quality companies that will diversify and complement the industrial base. The Partnership has played an important role in new business attraction, local existing industry expansion efforts and the continued development of marketable products throughout Surry County. To continue these efforts, we need your financial support.

The Surry County Economic Development Partnership, Inc. is a public-private/non-profit corporation, charted in 1995, that coordinates and conducts the economic development programs for Dobson, Elkin, Mount Airy, Pilot Mountain and Surry County. The Partnership’s network includes the Greater Mount Airy Chamber of Commerce, the Yadkin Valley Chamber Commerce, Surry Community College and the North Carolina Department of Commerce along with other state and local agencies and companies. The partnership structure is made up of 28 board members representing the private and public sector. The Partnership’s staff consists of the President, Vice President of Existing Business Services, and Office Manager.

The SCEDP works on three areas; helping our existing industry and businesses grow and expand, acting as a resource to entrepreneurs and small business, and to recruit new companies and market Surry County. Connecting you with opportunity, the SCEDP provides expertise on the county’s real estate and grant availability, incentive proposals, research and demographics, as well as workforce and training initiatives.
