June was a month filled with momentum—marked by groundbreaking events, regional recognition, hands-on learning experiences, and strategic planning. Whether it was connecting educators with local industries through our Educator Exchange program, breaking ground on a major expansion at NCFI Polyurethanes, or honoring small businesses that are fueling local innovation, the impact of collaboration could be felt in every corner of the county!
We also had the opportunity to represent Surry County on the statewide stage at the 2025 NCEDA Conference in Wilmington, where SCEDP President & CEO Blake Moyer was awarded Innovator of the Year for his visionary leadership in the development of the Twin Oaks Business Park. This recognition reflects not only his dedication, but also the forward-thinking mindset that continues to shape our region’s economic future.
Meanwhile, behind the scenes, our team is actively preparing for the SCEDP Annual Meeting on August 20—a milestone event where we’ll gather to share updates, recognize community contributions, and look ahead to what’s next.
In this issue of The View From Surry, you’ll find highlights from our recent programs and events as well as a preview of what’s to come. Whether you’re a business owner, educator, investor, or community member, we hope you’ll see yourself in the progress being made—and the opportunities still ahead.
Together, we’re building momentum. Together, we’re elevating Surry County.
