As the air turned crisp and the leaves began to change, Surry County continued to move forward—driven by collaboration, creativity, and community pride. This fall was a time to celebrate progress and the people behind it, from the shop floor to the town square.

We began the season in September by investing in the next generation of leaders through Lead Where You Live, empowering young professionals to strengthen their roots in Surry County and shape the future of our workforce and communities.

October brought with it one of the year’s most impactful celebrations—Manufacturing Week 2025. Across four days, local manufacturers opened their doors to students, educators, and community partners, offering a firsthand look at the innovation and craftsmanship driving our regional economy. From tours of cutting-edge facilities to a county-wide career fair, the week showcased not only our industries’ strength, but also the spirit of partnership that sets Surry County apart.

Fall also gave us time to connect through local traditions that bring our communities together, including Mount Airy’s Autumn Leaves Festival and Elkin’s Milltown Get Down!

In this issue of The View From Surry, you’ll find highlights from a season of progress, connection, and celebration. Whether you’re an employer, educator, community leader, or advocate for growth, thank you for continuing to build Surry County’s future with us!
