August 2025: The View From Surry

July and August were seasons of connection, celebration, and forward movement across Surry County. From inspiring women leaders at the Women Empowering Women Summit, to strengthening the bridge between classrooms and careers through our Educator Exchange programs, collaboration remained at the heart of our work. 

We also celebrated the new Hugh Chatham and Atrium Health partnership, a major step forward in expanding healthcare access and innovation for our community. And in August, we gathered at the SCEDP Annual Meeting to reflect on the year’s progress and chart the path ahead.

Adding to the excitement, we closed out August on the greens at the annual Hugh Chatham Foundation Golf Tournament—another reminder of the partnerships fueling innovation and quality of life in our region.

Looking ahead, fall is shaping up to be just as impactful, with opportunities for young professionals, a county-wide celebration of Manufacturing Week, and more ways to get involved in shaping Surry’s future.
