Cleared for Takeoff: Our 2026 Annual Report

The past year has been one of meaningful momentum for Surry County, and we’re excited to share the story in the Surry County Economic Development Partnership’s 2025–2026 Annual Report, “Cleared for Takeoff.”
Over the past year, Surry County saw $29 million in announced investment and 150 new full-time jobs, while continuing to build the foundation for future growth.
But growth is about more than jobs and investment. SCEDP continued strengthening the community through Everyday Elevated talent attraction, workforce development, small business support, housing advocacy, and site development.
Through the Surry Summit Grant Program, 14 local businesses received nearly $30,000 in funding, mentorship, and business development resources to help them launch and grow.
The year also brought a new digital front door for Surry County with the launch of a redesigned EDP website and expanded Everyday Elevated platform, making it easier for businesses, investors, prospective residents, and community members to connect with local opportunities and resources.
This is just the beginning. As we continue working toward the goals outlined in our Reach the Summit plan, we’re focused on building a stronger economy, attracting talent and investment, and creating new opportunities for the people and businesses that call Surry County home.
